Loom

Megaron the Athens Concert Hall, Athens 2022

The GesamtAtelier duo, Kyriaki Nasioula and Argyris Angeli, participate in the dialogue about how personal experiences and the collective identity of a place are woven together.

In collaboration with a group of talented emerging artists, they draw inspiration from the folklore and traditions of Greek lands, and they study the loom as a tool for producing works as well as social conditions. They perceive the hand-woven textile as a carrier of history, a canvas upon which human and personal life motifs take colour and come into shape. Testimonies, materials, and bodies intertwine composing a collective biography.
